If Gentoo is the distribution favoured by advanced users,
Sabayon Linux should be the one used by those that don't have the level necessary for
Gentoo. Sabyon Linux is based on Gentoo, incorporating its packing system, it's
Anaconda installer (based on that of Fedora) and of course the same basic updates.
Nevertheless,
Sabayon Linux is more accessible than Gentoo because it reaches the user completely compiled and with all it's 3D capabilities implemented and totaly operational. In this case
Compiz, the powerful 3D effect engine that most Linux distributions use for the desktop.
Sabayon Linux incorporates some of the latest games designed for Linux like
TORCS, Warsow, FlightGear, Savage or Battle for Wesnoth.
Like lots of other distributions,
Sabayon Linux installs after starting from a
LiveDVD, after this we will have a nice desktop in
Gnome or KDE (depending on the ISO we download) and all the applications and functions we would normaly expect from any distribution,
OpenOffice,
EXT4 support or the excellent
XBMC multimedia Centre.
